Objective
To streamline and optimize logistics management by tracking live truck movements from material yards to project sites, validating trips, and generating actionable insights using Power BI.
Workflow Overview

Real-Time Monitoring via Sensors: Trucks are equipped with sensors that monitor and record real-time movement. •Sensors trigger data whenever trucks start or arrive at project destinations.
Data Collection: Sensor data is sent via API to a central MySQL database, capturing thousands of trips per day across multiple locations. •The data includes information on trip start and stop times, distances, truck IDs, and destination details.
Data Processing and Transformation: MySQL performs data transformation, creating views for simplified reporting. •Power BI imports these views along with additional project and logistics datasets for further analysis and data modelling.
Data Visualization in Power BI :
Key Insights Generated: •
1. Valid Trips: Accurate tracking of trips made per day. •
2. Total Distance Covered: Distance covered by each truck across all project locations.
3. Trip Efficiency: Performance metrics for each trip, identifying delays and inefficiencies. 4. Missed Trips: Identification of trucks that failed to complete their trips.
Actionable Insights for the Project Team:
•Validating daily trips to verify operational accuracy.
•Cross-verifying invoice amounts with actual trip data to avoid discrepancies. •Identifying and reducing missed or incomplete trips, leading to cost savings. •Monitoring the overall efficiency of logistics operations.
Deployment and Access: The final Power BI report is deployed in the Power BI Service for live access. •Configured Gateways to ensure seamless real-time data updates. •The app is published and shared with key project stakeholders for easy decision-making and performance monitoring.
